Team Communication: Basecamp, Trello, Remind, and Google Calendar for Students

Basecamp - Total Team Communication and Project Management

Basecamp is a cloud based team group organization app with some powerful integrations ( remind, email, file uploads, calendar appointments, etc)

Creating an account

1. To sign up first log in to your RISD or Pearcerobotics.com Gmail account.
2. Then go to https://3.basecamp.com/3782372/projects
3. You will then receive a email from Basecamp with a link to create your account
4. Follow this link to create your account
5. Create an account with your real first and last name

Installing the app

1. On your mobile device (iOS, Android, Windows Phone) or home PC go to https://basecamp.com/help/3/guides/apps/overview
2. Once the app has finished installing sign in with your credentials you made when creating your account.

Trello

Tello is a collaborative Task board. the Team uses this to track our progress on our projects and assign and prioritize tasks.

1. Create a Trello account at https://trello.com/signup (you may use your Pearcerobotics or RISD Gmail account if you like)
2. To add yourself to the Pearce Robotics Team Boards go to https://trello.com/invite/pearcerobotics/ffaae6378763a29e034e3f8ac531a658
3. Finally download the mobile app( iOS, Android) at https://trello.com/platforms

Remind

Students should also sign up for the remind text message alerts. This allows for teachers and mentors to give short announcements for meeting times and forms.

1. On your mobile phone text @pearcerobo to 81010 and follow the instructions to sign up.

Google Calendar

Students and Parents should add the Pearce Robotics Calendar to their mobile device

From a Computer

1. Open Google Calendar.
2. On the left side, find "Other calendars" and click the down arrow Down arrow.
3. Select Add by URL.
4. Enter the calendar's address in the field provided. https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/pearcerobotics.com_qojghcmc3a6a1c4v2eecvr6esk%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics
5. Click Add calendar. The calendar will appear on the left side under "Other calendars."
6. Note: It might take up to 12 hours for changes to show in your Google Calendar.

For Android

1. Open Google Calendar.
